Ergo, Im very well-versed in the elements of a good running shoe.

At face value, theMizuno Wave Sky 8checks a surprising number of my boxes.

But are they worth the $170 price tag?

Below, learn what I love about theMizuno Wave Skysneakers and what Id change.

Its a neutral running shoe designed to be worn for everyday runs.

It has two layers of cushioning: the brands U4icX and Mizuno Enerzy foams.

The U4icX is another high rebound foam that contributes to what others have described as a cloud-like sensation.

I, however, found it to be surprisingly sturdy (in a good way).

This, plus the gusseted sock-like tongue lining, makes these sneakers secure and comfortable.

These shoes have an 8mm drop, while other max-cushioned sneakers are up there in the double digits.

That said, from the moment I laced these shoes up I was in love.

My next thought: I couldnt understand how asneakercould be so lightweight while also feeling cushioned under my feet.

While I wouldn’t call the cushioning cloud-like, I’d argue that’s agoodthing.

Ive now worn theMizuno Wave Sky 8sneakers for 9 runs:

And guess what?

They impressed me with every step.

I love that the cushioning also has a good amount of bounce.

I can actually feel my foot propelling forward as I run.

Again, theshoeshug my feet nicelybut I never once felt any discomfort during my runs.
