We likely don’t need to sell you on the powers of aloe vera.

The plant’s healing and soothing powers are near legendary at this point.

And while youcanusealoe vera alone as a conditioner or hair mask, we wanted to take it next level.

Aloe vera’s benefits for skin and hair are well known.

(A good rule to follow for all products, DIY or not.)

“Before mixing the ingredients, you’ve got the option to test the aloe on your skin.

If there aren’t any reactions, you might mix the mask and apply.”

Gather your other materials.

Honey can also act as a humectant for strands, so it helps your hair hold moisture for longer.

Extract the aloe.

After your leaf has been soaked, cut it open and scrape out the jellylike center.

That’s the good stuff, so get every last drop.

Mix your mask.

Put all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix together with a fork until it’s well combined.

Apply to dry hair.

You’ll want to apply this deep treatment prior to shampooing your hair.

Cleanse thoroughly.

Once your timer goes off, it’s time to shampoo.

Like any deep treatment, you don’t want to apply this daily.

King suggests applying this mask once a week at most.

Mix and apply your leave-in conditioner.

This is especially helpful for those with really dry, damaged hair who need extra-strength moisture.

Stir the mixture until it’s evenly mixed, then pour it into an old spray bottle.
